Description

The Morakniv Companion is an all-in-one knife for outdoor enthusiasts with a patterned, high-friction grip that makes it comfortable to hold and easy to handle. The Companion features a 4.1-inch (104 mm) blade of hardened Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel with a three-quarter tang for outdoor and marine applications where knives are commonly exposed to dirt and moisture. Stainless steel knives are less susceptible to corrosion and oxidization than carbon steels, giving them a longer life overall, plus they maintain edge sharpness for optimum cutting performance. The Companion will perform well with camp food preparations, creating tinder, cutting small limbs, and much more. Includes a color-matching sheath with belt clip. For use on clothing, tents, and other gear, Sawyer Premium Permethrin Clothing Insect Repellent not only repels insects, it actually kill ticks, mosquitoes, chiggers, mites, and more than 55 other kinds of insects on contact. It is also effective against the Yellow Fever Mosquito, which can transmit the Zika Virus.

Permethrin is odorless after drying and will not stain or damage clothing, fabrics, plastics, finished surfaces, or any of your outdoor gear. Use it while hunting for an odorless way to protect yourself from common bugs. The active ingredient Permethrin is a synthetic molecule similar to pyrethrum which is taken from the Chrysanthemum flower.

Sawyer Premium Permethrin comes in two sizes — a 12-ounce trigger spray bottle (for treating up to 2 complete outfits) and a 24-ounce trigger spray bottle (for treating up to 4 complete outfits). Sawyer Premium Permethrin is also available in a 9-ounce aerosol spray. A single application lasts up to six washings or up to 40 days of sun exposure. Repellent should be applied outdoors and before clothing is worn; after it’s treated, hang clothing and let dry 2 hours (4 hours in humid conditions).

The active ingredient in Repel is oil of lemon eucalyptus, a plant-based oil derived from the leaves of the Eucalyptus citriodora tree. The oil–which offers natural repellent properties against biting insects–is safe and effective, with a cool, refreshing scent.

Lemon Eucalyptus vs. DEET

Oil of lemon eucalyptus is the only plant-based active ingredient recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for mosquito protection. Oil of lemon eucalyptus provides protection similar to lower concentrations of DEET. It works great for outdoor outings, but should not be substituted for DEET-based products if you're traveling in severe insect conditions where Nest Nile virus or malaria may be prevalent.

Application Recommendations

Use just enough repellent to cover all exposed skin and clothing, spreading evenly with your hand to moisten. To apply to the face, spray it in your hand and then spread it to your face and neck. When applying to children, do not use Repel Plant-Based Lemon Eucalyptus Insect Repellent on their hands to prevent the accidental spread of repellent to their eyes or mouth. Oil of lemon eucalyptus-based repellent products are safe for children ages 3 years and older. Reapply once per day as needed.

Oil of lemon eucalyptus can be used on clothing and will not harm synthetic fabrics or gear made from synthetic materials. This product is designed for humans only, not pets.

¹If you purchase a nüMaps Lifetime subscription (sold separately or bundled together with certain GPS models), you will receive up to 4 map data updates per year, when and as such updates are made available on Garmin’s website, for 1 compatible Garmin product until your product’s useful life expires or Garmin no longer receives map data from its third party supplier, whichever is shorter. A product’s “useful life” means the period during which the product (a) has sufficient memory capacity and other required technical capabilities to utilize current map data and (b) is capable of operating as intended without major repairs.
